The brief
Create an invitation and a connected family of printed pieces for a formal Derby Eve event.
SCROLL TO EXPLORE ↓An invitation is the first part of the occasion. Shirer created a coordinated print suite for Lake Cumberland Performing Arts’ Derby Eve Gala, carrying a blue-and-white visual language from the invitation and RSVP through to the details guests encountered on the evening.
Create an invitation and a connected family of printed pieces for a formal Derby Eve event.
Decorative pattern, expressive lettering and a considered blue-and-white palette, carried across the suite.
A recognizable event identity with practical applications for guests and organizers. No attendance or fundraising uplift is claimed.
The invitation introduces the occasion before anyone arrives. Matching response pieces and directions give the practical information the same visual care as the invitation itself.

A consistent palette and graphic language help the menu, table numbers and other printed details feel part of one occasion. The archive photographs show that system out in the world, alongside the event team’s styling.

The project demonstrates how an event identity can work across different formats without losing its character. The design value is coherence: less reinvention for each item and a more considered experience from invitation to evening.
Invitation, RSVP and directions artwork are preserved in the 2016 project archive. Event print design by Shirer Burkett. Photography shown from the project archive; floral arrangements, venue and event styling are not presented as SUPERFAB design services.
